CVPRD 2024 Election Update

Dear Carbon Valley Community,

I am so excited to be able to communicate that we are just months away from an opportunity for you to vote on the expansion of the Recreation programming and facilities that you have been wanting. With the 182% growth of our District in the years since we started serving you, we are fully aware of the growing needs of our evolving community, and we are dedicated to continuing to serve you fully in the present and in the future.

I am honored to share with you on the behalf of our Board of Directors and entire staff about the election proposal that will be on the November 2024 ballot. The proposal includes renovations to the current 20+ year old Recreation Center in Frederick that will expand space and programs within our current land-locked footprint.

Some of those proposed improvements will be:

  • An additional gymnasium for indoor court sports and recreation
  • An expanded indoor track
  • A larger fitness studio
  • More cardio and weight equipment and space
  • A dedicated teen area for our young people to recreate and relax in
  • An outdoor turf field for sports, camps, and activities
  • A renovated maintenance facility

In addition to renovations, we are also proposing to expand our services through a new facility that is earmarked to be built in Central Park in Firestone. Building this facility in Firestone will make a CVPRD recreation facility within a 10-minute drive for over 95% of our District residents.

The new proposed facility is an Activities and Aquatics Facility that would include:

  • An indoor turf field with spectator seating, and drop down batting cages
  • Multiple indoor courts in a gymnasium that will provide much needed space for volleyball, basketball and indoor recreation
  • A cardio and weight area
  • A community lounge with concessions
  • A multi-purpose room for parties, meetings and other community activities
  • Locker rooms and storage space
  • An outdoor 6-lane regulation lap pool
  • An outdoor zero-entry family pool with a lazy river
  • Waterslides and a splash pad
  • Cabanas, shaded picnic areas and grass areas for family fun

You can find details about the proposal on our website at www.cvprd.com, which will be updated regularly. Please visit the election proposal webpage, watch the videos, explore the architectural drawings and map of our facility locations.

I really need to emphasize however, the only way to truly hear from the community as a whole, is if you Vote in November!

We are committed to answering all your questions and sharing all the details of the proposal to make sure you have all the facts and are informed in your vote. If you have any questions about the proposal, please reach out to us at election@cvprd.com. I personally will see that email and will respond as quickly and as effectively as we can because our top priority in putting this proposal together is YOU.

We cannot emphasize enough how honored we are to be part of the Carbon Valley community and to serve you in your wellness journey. We are so excited about the future and what we can build together as we engage the community to enhance all of lives through play and recreation!

With Optimism,
