A variety of drop-in programs and classes are offered at the Carbon Valley Active Adults & Community Center for adults age 55 and older.

Weekly Drop - In Programs 

Morning Joe Coffee 

Stop by the Active Adults & Community Center for a warm cup of coffee and conversation. A great way to start your day!

Diamond Dots 

Bring your own Diamond Dot art project and create with the group. Never created a Diamond Dot? Learn how to from the group. Diamond Dots is a  fun way to create art and is sure to keep you coming back each week. Materials not provided by CVPRD.

Tax Questions with Janice 

Stuck on how to file your Colorado taxes? Volunteer Janice will be on site to answer any questions or to guide you as you fill out your Colorado tax forms. Registration suggested, not required.

Tech Help 

Need help with a cell phone, tablet or computer? Bring your device in and our friendly folks from High Plains Library will help you navigate your device. Held on the 3rd Monday of the month unless that date falls on a holiday.

High Plains Library District Drop-In Genealogy 

Stuck on your family tree? Need to figure out a place to start? Just need a genealogy sounding board? Researching family can be a daunting exercise. Fortunately, we have an expert genealogist on hand to answer questions and provide guidance. Reservations suggested not required.

SilverSneakers, Renew Active and One Pass Fitness Orientation 

Join us for highlights of our Active Adult programming and a guided tour of the Rec Center.  Learn about the benefits of your SilverSneakers or Renew Active/One Pass membership along with fitness classes offered. Tour includes a brief overview of how to properly use the circuit and cardio machines.  Free for SilverSneakers, Renew Active Members. Registration in advance required.

Lobby Stop with High Plains Library District 

CVPRD and the High Plains Library District Outreach team have partnered to bring a little bit of the Library to you! Library lobby stops will occur the first and third Tuesday of each month. Librarians will bring books, help you reserve books, recommend books and more. Stop by the Community Center to learn more about this program.

Library Learning - Program of the Month: April - Easy Homemade Hummus Recipes 

Learn how to make homemade hummus and enjoy it as an easy way to incorporate fiber and protien into a meal or snack. All supplies and guided instruction provided. Registration in advance required. Space is limited.

Willmaker Legal Seminar 

A wonderful way to get a tough job finished! In a single, easy, and enjoyable session, you’ll complete a will, living will, medical power of attorney, financial power of attorney and more all with the help of licensed attorney, Rebecca L. Bennetti and her staff. Couples must register separately. Registration in advance required.

A Matter of Balance 

A six week class designed to reduce the fear of falling, stop the fear of falling cycle and increase activity levels. The program focuses on practical coping strategies using a variety of activities that address physical, social, and cognitive factors affecting the fear of falling. Class meets weekly.
