A variety of drop-in programs and classes are offered at the Carbon Valley Active Adults & Community Center for adults age 55 and older.

Weekly Drop - In Programs 

Morning Joe Coffee 

Stop by the Active Adults & Community Center for a warm cup of coffee and conversation. A great way to start your day!

Craft and Social Time 

Bring your favorite craft to work on while socializing, laughing, and having fun.

Join us for Hand and Foot card game. Enjoy friendly competition while making new friends.

Diamond Dots 

Bring your own diamond dot art project and create with the group. Never created a diamont dot? Learn how to from the group. Diamond Dots is a  fun way to create art and is sure to keep you coming back each week. Materials not provided by CVPRD.

Book Club 

NEW TIME! Join us for a lively discussion about the book of the month. Books selected are from a variety of genres, both fiction and non-fiction. The program is in partnership with the High Plains Library District, Carbon Valley Branch.

White Elephant Bingo 

Join us for our White Elephant Bingo! Bring a new or gently used item as a prize, wrapped or unwrapped. Rules and regulations will be announced prior to the start of the first game. February's Bingo is a the special "Valentine Tea & Bingo"  registration in advance required.
Cost: $5 District / $8 Non-District

Tech Help 

Need help with a cell phone, tablet or computer? Bring your device in and our friendly folks from High Plains Library will help you navigate your device. Held on the 3rd Monday of the month unless that date falls on a holiday. Please note that January's date is a week early due to the observation of the MLK holiday.

Library Learning - Program of the Month : February - See Sowing for Spring Planting 

A CSU master gardener will give you a simple, inexpensive methods and tips for starting seeds indoors to getready for spring planting. All supplies and materials provided. Registration in advance required. Space is limited.

Willmaker Legal Seminar 

A wonderful way to get a tough job finished! In a single, easy, and enjoyable session, you’ll complete a will, living will, medical power of attorney, financial power of attorney and more all with the help of licensed attorney, Rebecca L. Bennetti and her staff. Couples must register separately. Registration in advance required.

High Plains Library District Drop-In Genealogy 

Stuck on your family tree? Need to figurte out a place to start? Just need a genealogy sounding board? Reaserching family can be a saunting exercise. Fortunately, we have an expert genealogist on hand to asnwer questions and provide guidance. Reservations suggested not required.

A Matter of Balance 

A six week class designed to reduce the fear of falling, stop the fear of falling cycle and increase activity levels. The program focuses on practical coping strategies using a variety of activities that address physical, social, and cognitive factors affecting the fear of falling. Class meets weekly.
