Leanna Lorraine 

Leanna was diagnosed with scoliosis a little over a year ago when she was 10 years old. We have been doing a lot of treatments with the hope of healing her including chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture and more. Last fall, we had the idea to get her involved in yoga as her muscles are very tight. Scoliosis was the result of an extremely rapid growth spurt for Leanna. After reaching out to the Rec Center and talking to Suzi, the Fitness Coordinator, we decided to get her signed up for private yoga sessions. I didn’t know at that time that this decision to start yoga would prove to be life changing! The one-on-one private yoga sessions with Karen have been wonderful for Leanna and she really enjoys them. She has been in yoga for 6 months and we have seen significant improvement. Her chiropractor and physical therapist have both said that her consistent yoga sessions are playing a huge part in loosening her muscles and helping her spine. It’s been a blessing! We are also so thankful to have Karen as our instructor. Her knowledge and compassion are unmatched. We have learned so much and Leanna continues to improve. It has been truly amazing to watch the progress.
