Youth Basketball

2021 Winter Basketball  8U and 10U 

The season will run like a typical season with adjustments to follow COVID-19 guidelines. Teams will practice once per week and participate in games on Saturdays. All practices and games will be held at the recreation center gymnasium south court. There will be a maximin participation number set for each team and age group, maximin participations number may be reached before the registration deadline, a waitlist will be started when maximin participation numbers are reached.  Registration are first come first serve.

10U: Age 9 - 10 Boys/Girls
8U: Age 7 - 8 Coed

Dates: January 4 - February 27 
Registration Opens: Monday November 23
Registration Deadline: Monday December 14
10U Fee: $65 District, $80 Non-District
8U Fee: $55 District, $75 Non-District  

    

COVID 19 Guidelines

CVPRD COVID-19 guidelines are based on the State of Colorado guidelines for Personal Recreation and Team Sports. View them at https://covid19.colorado.gov/safer-at-home/recreation.

Game Day Procedures  

  • Game ball will be provided on game day. 
    • Ball will be sanitized by CVPRD staff after every match  
  • Team benches will be provided and will be social distanced.  
  • CVPRD staff will sanitize team benches after every game.  
  • Participants/spectators/coaches will enter the recreation center using the doors to the west of the main entrance.  
  • Participants/spectators/coaches will exit through the emergency exit on the west side of the gym. 
    • CVPRD staff member will open doors after game has finished.  
  • Teams/spectators can arrive 10 minutes early to scheduled game time 
  • Teams/spectators must exit immediately after the conclusion of game   

Spectators 

  • Spectators must not enter recreation center if they: 
    • Are exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus. According to the CDC, people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported—ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. 
    • Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days 
  • Only 1 spectator per participant  
  • Spectators must always wear face coverings  
  • Each team will have a designated side of the court to sit on 
    • Home team east side of the gym 
    • Away team west side of the gym  
  • Spectators must bring their own chair or stand  
  • Spectators must sit within the social distanced box or bubble   
  • Spectators are not allowed on track or other parts of the recreation facility  

Participants/Coaches 

  • Participants/Coaches must not participate if they: 
    • Are exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus. According to the CDC, people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported—ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. 
    • Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days. 
  • Coaches must always wear face coverings  
  • Participants must wear face covering entering and exiting the facility  
  • Do not have to wear face coverings while actively playing  
  • Participants need to wear face covering while not actively playing or while they are sitting out 
  • Each team will have a designated side of the court to sit on 
    • Home team east side of the gym 
    • Away team west side of the gym  
  • Participants are encouraged to provide their own hand sanitizer  
  • Participants are encouraged to provide their own ball  
  • Each participant should bring their own water/sports drink. No sharing.  
  • No high fives, handshakes, or fist bumps. Teams should acknowledge each other post game via cheer or waves.
