2020 Fall/Winter 10U, 12U, and 14U Volleyball - POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19

The league includes instructions and skill development as well as games against other Carbon Valley teams. Knee pads (not provided) are required. 

The season will run like a typical season with adjustments to follow COVID-19 guidelines. Teams will practice once per week and participate in games on Saturdays. All practices and games will be held at the recreation center gymnasium south court. There will be a maximum participation number set for each team and age group. If maximum participation numbers are reached before the registration deadline, a wait list will be started. Registration is first-come, first-served.

10U: Age 9 and 10
12U: Age 11 and 12
14U: Age 13 and 14
There are no 8 and under leagues this season.
Fee: $68 District, $79 Non-District

COVID-19 Guidelines 

CVPRD COVID-19 guidelines are based on the State of Colorado guidelines for Personal Recreation and Team Sports. View them at https://covid19.colorado.gov/safer-at-home/recreation.

Game Day Procedures  

  • Game ball will be provided on game day and will be sanitized by CVPRD staff after every match 
  • Team benches will be provided and socially distanced
  • Staff will sanitize team benches after every game  
  • Participants/spectators/coaches will enter the recreation center using the doors to the west of the main entrance  
  • Participants/spectators/coaches will exit through the emergency exit on the west side of the gym. A CVPRD staff member will open the doors after game has finished.
  • Teams/spectators may arrive 10 minutes early to scheduled game time 
  • Teams/spectators must exit immediately after the conclusion of game   

Spectators 

  • Spectators must not enter recreation center if they: 
    • Are exhibiting any Coronavirus symptoms. According to the CDC, people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms ranging from mild to severe. Symptoms may appear 2 - 14 days after exposure to the virus and include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell. 
    • Have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.  
  • Only one spectator per participant  
  • Spectators must wear a face covering at all times
  • Each team will have a designated side where spectators may sit
    • Home team - east side of the gym 
    • Away team -  west side of the gym  
  • Spectators must either bring their own chair or stand up during the game
  • Spectators must practice social distancing and stay within the socially distanced box 
  • Spectators are not allowed on the track or in other parts of the rec center

Participants and Coaches

  • Participants/coaches must not participate if they:

  • Coaches must wear a face mask at all times
  • Participants must wear a face mask when entering and exiting the facility  
    • Participants do not have to wear a face covering while actively playing  
    • Participants need to wear face covering when not actively playing or while they are sitting out
  • Each team will have a designated side and must remain on that side during the entire game - no switching benches or sides after matches. 
    • Home team - east side of the gym 
    • Away team -  west side of the gym  
  • Participants are encouraged to provide their own hand sanitizer  
  • Participants are encouraged to provide their own ball
  • Each participant should bring their own water/sports drink. No sharing.  
  • No high fives, handshakes, or fist bumps. Teams should acknowledge each other post game via cheer or waves.
